Monitor is a management consulting and merchant banking group with over 1000 professionals in 29 offices across the globe. Started by Professor Michael Porter and a group of his colleagues at the Harvard Business School, our focus has been on fundamentally enhancing and sustaining the performance of our clients in the private, public and non-profit sectors.

We have been active in India for the past decade and are currently expanding our local operations. A key part of this growth strategy is bringing our expertise to bear on the social change front. For example, one of India's biggest challenges is in the area of social inequity (a large group of low income people are not benefiting proportionately from the overall economic growth in the country). Given Monitor’s global experience in this area and our commitment to India, we decided that this will be one of our focus areas in India.

Our in-field stance is very action-oriented. In some instances, we are taking a lead in creating the solutions ourselves.  In other cases, we are working with entrepreneurs or organizations with the motivation and core capabilities, to bring such solutions rapidly to market, at scale.

We have a core team led by a senior partner and global account manager dedicated full-time to this initiative (in addition to allocating other consultants on an as-required basis). We are expanding the team and looking for resources at multiple levels - from experienced consultants to entry level resources.

Monitor Inclusive Markets is looking for experienced and highly motivated professionals with first class academic and professional backgrounds to complement our team. We are looking for people who demonstrate the highest ethical standards, a deep sense of collegiality, and a strong urge to create positive change in Indian society. Exposure to or prior work in social issues would be a plus, but is not a required condition. However, work experience in a developing country and some exposure to South Asia is a must.

The positions are based in Mumbai, India and entail in-country travel.
